Our story
Antipodes Travel was born from a deep attachment to New Zealand, that country at the end of the world where Sandrine and Yoann settled long before imagining it would become their profession.
Settled in New Zealand since 2002, Sandrine and Yoann founded the agency in 2004 in Dunedin, on the South Island. French speakers who fell in love with Oceania, they created Antipodes Travel to meet the growing demands of French-speaking travelers eager to discover this Pacific region. The agency has developed gradually, expanded its scope to Australia and the Pacific islands, and now has around ten staff members based between Dunedin and Australia's Sunshine Coast. Antipodes Travel is also approved by the Department of Conservation, which allows it to guide groups through New Zealand's national parks.
Sandrine, originally from Haute-Savoie, has been living in New Zealand for over twenty years and long wrote travel guides about the country before co-founding the agency. Alongside her, Yoann, a Breton by origin, is a biologist and photographer who brings his perspective on nature and wide open spaces. Charlène, settled in New Zealand since 2014, completes the team as a travel consultant, alongside other English-speaking advisors based on the ground.

Plan ideally 2 to 3 months before departure during peak seasons (hotels and guides are scarcer), 1 month is enough for quieter seasons. For last-minute departures, get in touch with us: we'll honestly tell you if we can put together a quality trip within the timeframe.
Yes, 7 days a week throughout your stay. You'll receive a local WhatsApp number + a dedicated emergency contact. Our on-site team can assist within hours in case of unexpected events (cancelled flight, illness, weather changes).
Your payments are 100% protected by the Professional Solidarity Association for Tourism. If a service provider (hotel, transport, etc.) or the agency fails, your funds are refunded. This is a mandatory guarantee for any French travel agency — Nomadays benefits from it across its entire network.
Yes, as much as possible. Changes made more than 30 days before departure are generally free of charge (excluding hotel rate differences). As your departure approaches, some bookings become less flexible — we always inform you of your options before confirmation.
Payment is made in full in France, in euros, with Nomadays — secured by credit card or bank transfer. You have no payments to make in New Zealand: everything is pre-arranged (accommodations, transfers, guides, activities). You just need to budget for meals outside the itinerary and personal purchases.
